Lesson 6: Exploring Resilience in Depth

Your Students' Lessons here!

Our students have thoroughly enjoyed creating the first five lessons that you have worked through so far, and we thought it would be a great idea to have your class now create a lesson of their own. For Lesson 6, we would like to suggest that you work with your students to create a lesson for their peers about one of the film's presiding themes, 'resilience'. The term resilience  - an individual's ability to overcome adversity and continue his or her normal development.  How does your class interpret this term in reference to clips highlighted below? This should be a rewarding, culminating activity for this unit on Mental Health. Or, it can also be a stand alone class where you simply explore the clips below in order to stimulate a positive class discussion with the hopes of ending this unit on an inspiring note.

If you choose to have your students work on creating a lesson, the parameters are wide-open.  Creativity is encouraged!  Once your students have created their own lesson, you are welcome to share it with us and and have it published on the Warrior Within site. To do so, please contact us through this website and we will highlight your school, your students, and their original lesson plan on resilience, so that other students can benefit from their insight.

We look forward to hearing more about your student-driven curriculum, the theme of resilience and what they would like their peers to discover!
